Vasilios “Vas” Manthos, Attorney
Vas is passionate about representing victims of discrimination. He combines his unique background and litigation experience to zealously represent victims of employment discrimination. He is an experienced state and federal court litigator who has handled numerous cases involving sexual harassment, race discrimination, age discrimination, disability discrimination, ERISA benefits, and wage and hour violations. He has represented clients in federal and state jury trials, bench trials, appeals, employment arbitrations, and labor disputes. He has also served clients in mediations and settlement negotiations, and developed and implemented litigation, settlement, discovery, and trial strategies.
Vas graduated cum laude from Tulane University with a degree in Classical studies and then taught classical Greek and Latin at Jesuit High School, New Orleans. He then went to law school, where he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Mississippi and was a member of the Mississippi Law Journal. After graduating from law school, Vas worked as a senior associate in one of the most respected, boutique labor and employment firms in Louisiana. Before joining Ellwanger Law, Vas served as Legal Counsel in the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Coastal Activities, where he provided advice and counsel regarding Louisiana’s Comprehensive Master Plan for a Sustainable Coast and assisted Louisiana’s RESTORE Council representative in securing multi-million dollar RESTORE Act oil spill grants.
